Fall 2021 Acting Technique Classes – Plymouth Performing Arts Center

Grade 3-5

  • Five 75-minute sessions (Wednesdays 4:30 to 5:45 PM, Oct. 13 – Nov. 10)
  • This class will build the student’s skills in dance, acting and singing as they cross train for a better product onstage.
  • Beginning dance technique combined with vocal application
  • Improvisation influenced by character choices
  • Movement exercises that grow left/right brain coordination
  • Storytelling through physical application
  • Block harmonies and timing

Grades 6-8

  • Five 75-minute sessions (Saturdays 2:45 to 4:00 PM, Oct. 16 – Nov. 13)
  • This class will develop the combined skills of dance, drama and vocals into a more cohesive unit.
  • Understand the technique behind dance movement, acting choices and vocal application so that your songs have stronger acting choices, your dancing displays confidence in storytelling and your acting supports the story being told.
  • Movement exercises that grow left/right brain coordination
  • Harmonies and acting through the song
  • Audition skills

Grades 9-12

  • Four 75-minute sessions (Thursdays 7:30 – 8:45 PM, Oct. 14 – Nov. 4)
  • Developing the combined skills of dance, drama and vocals into a more cohesive unit.
  • Take skills to the next level with performances that move audiences.
  • Advanced dance technique
  • Character analysis and emotional investment into characters
  • Grow musical theater repertoire and historical references
  • Advanced harmonies and acting through the song
  • Audition skills
