Welcome to the MTC Spring 2020 Online Mini Stage Theater Program!

Season Overview

In this spring’s Mini Stage production, “Dream Big!,”  each student will invent a fairytale character, animal, or superhero who they would like to become.  They will then choose a song for their character from MTC’s library of traditional and original songs.   From there, our directors will lead students through a journey that includes character interviews, theatrical skill games, and work on projection, articulation, listening, facial expression, while developing confidence acting in front of a camera.  The students will hold a revue-style online performance in May.
This season’s interactive online format provides a unique opportunity for our directors to focus on teaching personal acting skills rather than ensemble and choreography that is often the focus of on-stage productions.
Classes are limited to 6 children so that each will receive personal attention.

Weekly Theatre Open-Mic Nights

Students are invited to perform in MTC’s weekly Theatre Open Mic nights, Wednesdays at 7:30 PM on MTC’s Zoom platform.  Students may perform any musical theatre song from a Broadway show or any of MTC’s productions.
To join an open-mic, click the “Online Events” link at the top of your online student record.
Our directors will make special guest appearances at each Open Mic!

Assignments

At-home assignments will be emailed by the director.  Check your email after each class for the updated assignment.

How to Access Zoom Online Rehearsals

Parents – your assistance will be needed to set up your child’s Zoom device and connecting to the class.  We encourage you to observe the class (45 minutes) to handle any connection issues that may arrive.
You will receive an email with your Online Student Record link.  Click the “Join Online Class” link from your online student record to join the rehearsal.
You may also login to your Online Student Record at www.musictrainingcenter.com and click “Student Login.”
A  Mac or PC laptop, Chromebook, or desktop (with mic and speakers) is preferred, as it allows each student to see all other students on the same screen.  Smartphones and tablets may also be used, in which case the student will see the director or whichever student is speaking.
Choose a location near your Wifi Router for best audio/video performance.  Run a speed test (google “Speed Test”) – speed should be at least 10 Mbps upload/download.  If you need technical assistance, feel free to email mail@musictraining.com
