MTC Summer Camp Friday Workshops – July 3, 2020

Sessions run 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes in length

10:00  – 11:15 AM

  • The Yellow Brick Road (taught by Felicia Kaufmann) – Come with me and explore the yellow brick road together with fun dance and movement! You never know what character we’ll meet first! Come and find out…
  • The Art of Persuasion: Make Your Own TV Commercial (taught by Jen Grasso) – Have you ever wished you could have your own product and create a fun commercial to go with it? In this class, we will design a brand new cereal and make a commercial including its name, logo, character, slogan, and prize inside! Bring paper and markers!
  • So You Wanna Be a Superhero? (taught by Justin Caiazzo) – Calling all Superheroes! There are several important missions all over the globe and it is up to you and your team to set things right. Come up with your superhero name, decide your powers and skills, act out and improvise as your character, and help make the world a better place. 

11:30 AM – 12:45 PM

  • Wanna Come to Oz? (taught by Felicia Kaufmann) – Everyone wants to see the Emerald City gates! But we gotta groove and move to get there! Let’s do that together with the beloved music we all love and adore! 
  • More than Dr. Seuss! (taught by Jen Grasso) – Do you enjoy creating fun voices for your characters? Wouldn’t it be fun to try your ideas in a class that focused on just that? Grab a couple children’s storybooks from home and prepare to read them aloud using accents, timing changes, emotions, and anything you can think of to make the story much more interesting!
  • Puppetry 101 (taught by Anthony Azzolina) – Learn how to add life to a puppet. In this class we will create a puppet from regular household items and get a masterclass on how to bring it to life.  

1:30 PM – 2:45 PM

  • Basements and Beasts (taught by Anthony Azzolina) –  A simplified Role Playing Game inspired by Dungeons and Dragons with a focus on improvisation skills, voice acting, and character development. Create a character and drop them into the choose your own adventure story that the Narrator has created.”
  • You’re on Deck Audition Workshop (taught by Justin Caiazzo) – Develop physical, facial, and verbal expression for character interpretation using monologues! Improve theatrical reading skills, practice projection and articulation for film and stage, and learn to prepare for any audition.
