2021 Summer Camp Policies

Pandemic Policies

  • Depending on pandemic conditions, camp rehearsals and performances will be held in-person, online, or as a mix of in-person and online activities.  This determinations will be made by the school and may be adjusted at any time before or during the camp to ensure student’s safety in response to regional conditions and conditions that may arise during the camp.  Parents will be notified at the earliest possible time that these determinations are made or changed, and activities will transition online as needed.
  • When camps are held in-person, MTC will provide a virtual Theatre camp option for families that prefer an online camp. The virtual camp will rehearse and perform a musical on the same schedule as the in-person camp.  The virtual camp content (choice of show) may be different from the in-person camp, and may include students from across all MTC locations.
  • Students must comply with pandemic-related safety measures for any in-person activities, including :
    • Wearing a properly-fitted mask of a type approved or specified by MTC.
    • Social distancing, hand-washing, use of hand sanitizer, and meal safety protocols (staggered meal breaks, increased distancing, etc.).
    • Morning and afternoon temperature checks, pre-camp screening questionnaire, and daily screening questionnaire.
    • Other PPE and additional measures as may be determined by the school and state and federal guidelines.

Refund Policy

  • Due to our small camp size (max. 15 students per theatre camp production), we have limited ability to provide refunds and credits for withdrawals after reserving a space for a student in our camp.
    • Withdrawals prior to May 1, 2021 will be refunded less a $200  per-camp withdrawal fee.
    • Withdrawals between May 1 and May 31, 2021 will be refunded less a $300 per-camp withdrawal fee.
  • Beginning June 1, 2021 tuition is non-refundable and cannot be credited, carried forward, or transferred to other activities as a result of:
    • The school’s determination of in-person vs. online rehearsals and performances or to the content of the camp as necessitated by adverse conditions beyond the school’s control including Covid-19 and other public health events, government mandates, civil unrest, or climate events.
    • Changes in student’s summer schedules, changes in teachers/directors, assigned roles, role gender, line counts, ages or genders of other students, schedule conflicts.
    • If the student is dismissed from the camp or if their role is reassigned to other students due to issues with preparedness, attendance or behavior.
  • Tuition may be transferred to another summer 2021 MTC Theatre Camp at any of MTC’s Pennsylvania locations with 14-day notice before the camp start date and subject to availability of other camps. Tuition is not transferrable to private lessons, classes, or other activities. There will be no tuition refund, credit, carry forward, or application to other activities if a transfer request cannot be accommodated.
  • Exceptions to the refund policy will be granted at the school’s discretion only in the event of documented long-term illness or injury that prevents participation for the remainder of the summer season in both in-person and online camps.  In the event an exception is made for this reason, tuition will be credited towards future use at MTC and may be applied to classes and lessons through June 15, 2022, or may be refunded at 50% of the original tuition upon request.
  • If a camp is cancelled entirely by the school with no option provided to continue the camp online, tuition will be refunded in proportion to the number of completed camp days.
