Darryl Schick – Founder

Darryl Schick grew up in Lower Merion and is a graduate of Lower Merion School District.  He attended University of Pennsylvania where he earned his Bachelors degree in Engineering, and later earned his Masters degree in Engineering from Drexel University and MBA from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business.

Darryl is a life-long musician who learned violin at age 5, performed as a clarinetist in the Lower Merion school district where was the first chair clarinet in the Bala-Cynwyd Junior High School band, orchestra, and show orchestra. He later studied guitar with Chet Makowski at the Medley Music School in Bryn Mawr, studied voice with Manuel Lujan, and studied classical piano with Jeffrey Marlowe.  He performed as guitarist and frontman of the rock cover band Infinity in Melbourne, Florida from 1985-1988.

In 1999, Darryl patented the first device to display digital photos on home televisions prior to the era of flatscreen TV’s.  His patent was assigned to Microsoft and sold nationally as the Microsoft TV Photo Viewer.  In 2002, Darryl opened the Music Training Center in the Plymouth Square Shopping Center, which grew to five school locations in the greater Philadelphia area.  In 2019, Darryl opened the Plymouth Performing Arts Center which is focused on theatrical arts, and vocal and instrument music.
