Kyle Struve – Drum Instructor
Kyle Struve is a graduate of Lawrence University with a Bachelor of Music Degree with studies in classical percussion, jazz drumming, jazz composition / arranging, and ethnic percussion styles from Ghana, Brazil, and Cuba. Following graduation from Lawrence University, Kyle studied jazz drumming with John Riley at the Manhattan School of Music.
Kyle has performed with artists including Nir Felder, Adam Niewood, Linda May-Han Oh, Aidan Carroll, Jina Brass Band, and the Asphalt Orchestra. He has performed and taught master classes throughout the U.S., as well as in Mexico City, Berlin, Nairobi, Seoul, and Tumen, China.
Prior to joining Music Training Center’s faculty, Kyle taught students ages 4 through 18 at the Larchmont Music Academy. He is passionate about the power of drumming to center the body, calm the mind, and be a whole lot of fun! In addition to the drums, Kyle enjoys playing piano, washboard, thumb piano, and a home-made marimba built from 2x4s.
