Laurie Zemble is a graduate of the University of Delaware with a Bachelor’s degree in Choral and General Music Education.
Laurie began singing at age 7, where she landed her first role in “Mary Poppins”. She continued performing in South Jersey including other favorite roles as Sandy in “Grease”, Little Red Riding Hood in “Into The Woods”, and Johanna in “Sweeney Todd”. At the University of Delaware, Laurie served as student conductor for various choral groups and a soloist for the University of Delaware Chorale. She was awarded the Outstanding Student Teacher of the Year.
She continued performing after college in a wedding band for 10 years and also as lead singer for the band, Wishing With Heroes. In 2010, Laurie’s efforts won her the Wishes Come True Award for helping financially challenged children obtain music education and instruments. The band’s album is currently on iTunes and all proceeds continue to go towards charity.
Laurie returned to NJ, teaching Choral and General music in the Pennsauken School District for 6 years before starting a family. Since then, she has been teaching voice and piano lessons while working as a signed recording artist with original Country songs playing across multi-national radio stations. Her music is available at all downloadable music websites and applications, including iTunes and Google music. Currently, Laurie is the music teacher at Hillside Elementary School in Mt. Laurel, NJ.
Laurie’s favorite styles of music to sing are Country, Broadway, Classical, and Popular. She is excited to join the faculty at MTC, teaching students of all ages and providing each student a well-rounded music experience in all music genres.
