Mia Nicolai

Mia Nicolai – Theatre Director 

Mia Nicolai is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University Main Campus where she earned a B.A. in English and a Minor in Theatre.
While at Penn State, Mia performed in ten musicals and directed and  assistant directed five musicals and plays with the Penn State Thespians and No Refund Theatre, and was awarded Best Comedic Actress and Best Newcomer.
Mia has a great love of working with children in the theatre. She is currently the full-time Drama teacher at Stages Academy Preschool in Buckingham. Previously, she directed an adapted play of “The Magic School Bus” for the Penn State Thespians Children’s Show, and she once worked as a Theatre Camp counselor for the YMCA of Greater Brandywine, where she led five different camps of children age 5-14. She also directed the camp production of Beauty and the Beast Jr. with a cast of 35 kids!
Mia has enjoyed numerous other acting and singing opportunities since leaving Penn State. In the Fall of 2018, she was a scare actor at the Eastern State Penitentiary’s “Terror Behind the Walls”. She is currently a part of American Immersion Theatre’s Philadelphia Troupe, which partners with the Murder Mystery Company to provide private murder mystery performances for a variety of events. She has also performed as an event singer for birthday parties and for one wedding! 
Mia has been singing and acting since she was 4 years old. Her favorite roles played so far have been Mrs. Potts in Beauty and the Beast and the Genie in Aladdin Jr.   She believes that fostering a love and appreciation for theatre and fine arts is incredibly important, and she is very excited to be part of the MTC team where she can share her passion with many young performers!
