1) iPhone, iPad, Android, and Tablet Settings for Music and Theatre
-
EVERY DAY YOU HAVE A LESSON, REHEARSAL, or PERFORMANCE: Install the CURRENT version of the Zoom App from the Google Play Store or Apple app store, then:
-
Open the Zoom App
-
Click the Settings icon (screenshot)
-
-
Scroll down to Use Original Sound and turn it ON (screenshot)
-
Exit Settings
-
IMPORTANT – THE STUDENT MUST DO THIS AT THE START OF EVERY LESSON, REHEARSAL, AND PERFORMANCE – Zoom WILL NOT REMEMBER this setting:
-
-
Tap your screen, then select “More •••”
-
Click “Enable Original Sound”
-
If you do not see Enable Original Sound, leave the meeting and go back to step 1 above.
2) WiFi Connection and Location
-
If possible, be on the same floor and close to your Wi-Fi Router – Weak WiFi signal will degrade or drop your connection.
-
Avoid use of your WiFi network for streaming TV, movies, or gaming during your lesson, rehearsal, or performance.
3) Zoom Device, Camera, Tripod, and Microphone
-
If you are using a iPhone (version 11 or earlier) or iPad with a lightning connector, we recommend:
-
Voice and Theatre students – You will stand during most lessons, rehearsals, and performances
-
Purchase a tripod/ring light such as this and set to eye level when standing.
